The annual Juniors Sailing Group Regatta takes place this Saturday 30th September. We welcome all juniors and youth members under 18 to participate in the event, which aims to help them learn about racing in a fun, friendly and familiar environment. It’s a great way to practice and showcase the skills acquired this season.
After the regatta we’ll have the prize giving and group photo from 4:30pm followed by cakes in the LSC bar.
Prizes will be awarded to race winners in each class, and for the most improved junior of the 2023 season so even if you are not competing, please turn up as you might get an award.
The bar will be open but we ask all parents to bring cakes and/or crisps, dips / finger food to share.
Eligibility:
This is a mixed fleet racing event open to all LSC Youth members under the age of 18 yrs old.
- All competitors must be a current member of LSC.
- The club will provide juniors boats for the event on a first come first serve basis
- Use of personal boats is allowed, each participating boat shall have valid third-party insurance with a minimum cover of £2 million as per LSC rules.
All boats will start on the same start line, sail the same course and finish on the same finish line.
Finish time for all boats will be recorded and elapsed times will be adjusted based on the number of laps each boat sails during the time period, factored times are then corrected in the normal way using the appropriate Portsmouth Numbers.
Depending on weather conditions we are planning to run 4 races of about 30-40min each (2 in the morning and 2 early afternoon) with boats off the water by 4pm latest.

1st Race: 10:30am
2nd Race: 11:30am

1st Race: 13:00pm
2nd Race: 14:30pm
