Dinghy sailing tasters at our Open Day
Littleton Sailing Club welcomes adults and families to book a taster sail. You will set sail in one of our 2-person training boats, with an experienced club sailor at the helm. Your experienced helm will show you the ropes and even let you take the helm if the weather is suitable. Parents and their children will be paired together in a boat for a family taster sail to help you start a new family activity. Included in your ticket is a drink and light snack for when you come off the water.
There are three pre-bookable sessions for adults and families:
Session 1: 13:30
Session 2: 14:30
Session 3: 15:30
What to Wear for a Sailing Taster
Suitable warm clothing, waterproof trousers and top and trainers. Should you have a wetsuit and neoprene boots then that would also be an option though certainly not essential. If the weather on the day is warm then shorts will be fine. Buoyancy aids will be worn whilst on the water, so if you have one bring it with you, otherwise we will provide you with one on the day. Hot showers are available so bring a change of clothes and a towel.
Learn to Sail
If you decide you would like to learn to sail then the club offers RYA Level 1&2 adult training courses during the year.
The dates for this year’s adult courses are:
- Aug 7/8, Aug 14,15
- Sep 4/5, Sep 11/12
Junior sailing
For children our Juniors’ Sailing Group aims to introduce youngsters to sailing with their parent or guardian, enhancing their skills and having fun as they progress through the junior fleet of boats.Â
Can two children aged 10 and twelve years try a taster sail without an accompanying adult?
Unfortunately our child taster sessions are sold out but there still tickets available for families with at least one accompanying adult
